Just a quick update to let you know that I’m now on Dribbble. I was kindly drafted a few weeks ago by follow designer Chad Engle of Fuel Your Creativity (you can view his work on Dribbble).
What is Dribbble?
Dribbble is show and tell for designers, developers and other creatives. Members share sneak peeks of their work as “shots” — small screenshots of the designs and applications they are working on. It’s also a place to talk design, give and receive feedback and iterate toward better work (from the Dribbble site FAQ).
I’ve quite taken to this service over the past couple of weeks, and I’ve had some valuable feedback on my designs, too. If you’re currently a user, you can follow me on Dribbble here.
So far, I’ve only uploaded a hand-full of “shots”, but these include a logo design for my Wife’s side-business and my new upcoming blog header.
Do you use Dribbble? What do you think of it?

Looks good Andrew, I might have to give this a whirl, also interesting to view other designers work in progress, nice find!

I’d like to try it out, but I won’t go as far as making a website to request an invite
better use that time to make something more useful…

@Gareth → If you decide to give it a go, I’m sure someone would give an invite to yourself. I don’f have any to give away yet, though. BTW, Greta new Gravatar
@Kaishin → Do you know someone who has made a website just to request an invite? Seems strange to me.

I’ve given it a shot, but haven’t had much time for it lately. I can see the advantage, though. Constructive feedback’s always good.

@Andrew http://www.pleaseinvitemetodribbble.com/ and I have seen a couple of similar websites…

I definitely like the idea of this over somewhere like logopond. While there is good stuff there, there is a tonne of crap to sort through, or the same logo submitted in 10 different colours etc.
This sounds like a great way to keen the submission standards high. If you get a spare invite down the road I’d be keen.

@Andrew → I’m not keen on LogoPond either. Way too many deigns that are just from logo design competitions I reckon; haven’t used in years.
I don’t have any invites as yet, but I’ll keep you mind should I receive some to distribute

@Kaishin → Dear me, that designer has way too much spare time…

@David → I too struggle to find time. I find that sites like Twitter can be a total hindrance on occasion, but Dribbble can be the source of great feedback when used correctly.

That “invite me to dribble” site is great, I reckon, it obviously served its purpose. As so you though, where to find the time?
03 Aug 2010 09:08 am Andrew Keir
er.. that was meant to say
“As you said though, where to find the time?”
I’m not quite sure what happened there lol

@Andrew → Well, you could have amended the comment, but Ajax Comments Edit was playing up, so I uninstalled the plugin. Gasp.

You love having problems with your blog, don’t you
04 Aug 2010 06:08 am Andrew Keir
@Andrew → Yeah, plugins are a constant hassle I could do without…

I’ve caught a few good Dribbbles through Twitter but I think I’ll give it a miss – not least because no one’s invited me!
07 Aug 2010 04:08 pm Rob Cubbon
So how goes the dribbling? Any signs of it sending some traffic your way?
15 Aug 2010 08:08 am Andrew Keir
@Andrew → I haven’t really been tracking it, although I’m not using the service for site traffic but for valuable feedback on design work. Although, any generated traffic would be a bonus I suppose…
16 Aug 2010 01:08 pm Andrew Kelsall
@Rob → I you need an invite, you could just tweet that you would like one to your followers. There a fair few floating around and are given to designers like you
16 Aug 2010 01:08 pm Andrew Kelsall
OK, you’ve persuaded me. I’ll give it a go. Although, like David, I don’t think I’ll be able have time to put much up there. I was a late-Tweeter; now I’m late Dribbbling!
16 Aug 2010 08:08 pm Rob Cubbon
@Rob → It doesn’t take long to Dribbble a shot, however, like Twitter, you find you can spend an awful lot of time getting side-tracked!

Dribbble is great, you have some nice work their as well,
I would like to follow you on Dribbble, but unfortunately I found out about Dribbble after too late, no sign up now

Have not used it yet, I can see the value in it as a designer. I am still trying to find an invite somewhere, once I do I will let you know.
Cheers

Dimi → When you get an invite, let me know and I’ll take a look at your Dribbbles
Thanks for commenting…

hussam → I’m sure you’ll get on there at some point. Keep tweeting for an invite…
