Last week, I stumbled across an article form Inspiks.com entitled 17 Amazing Christian Movie Posters. This list of movie posters includes The 10 Commandments (1956), Ben Hur (1959), The Gospel of John (2003), The Passion of the Christ (2004) and Amazing Grace (2007).

The article shows an image of each poster design, along with a brief description of each one. The post introduction reads:

Movies are fun, they take us from our everyday world into stories beyond our imaginations and for a few hours we are placed into a world of mystery and wonder. The one thing besides the trailers that gets our attention when we go to the cinema are movie posters, with their bright colors and slick design, they are sometimes more visually exciting than the actual movie. Below we showcase some of the best Christian Movie Posters that captured our attention.

There’s some interesting designs on there. If you have the time—and are interested in Chrisitian Movie Posters , why not check it out?

Recently, ChristianColleges.com included an article on the Top 10 Hollywood Christians. I’m not really a celebrity-loving person, but when these people are Christians too, I believe they’re worth noting—as to many people, they are looked-upon as role-models.

The top 10 list is comprised of: Denzel Washington, Martin Sheen, Patricia Heaton, Adriana Lima, Angela Bassett, Nicole Kidman, Evangeline Lilly, Christy Turlington, Kristin Chenoweth and Miley Cyrus.

To read more about these Christian Celebrities, you can head over to the original aricle over at Christian Colleges.

Outstanding Christian Poem: I don’t believe in air

christian-design

Back at University, I worked on a project, whereby I illustrated Christian poetry. The following Poem “I don’t believe in air” is one of my all-time favourites. I don’t know who penned it—but it’s one of the most amazing Christian poems I’ve ever read.

Take a deep breath…

I Don’t Believe in Air

I don’t believe in air
No one has ever seen it
No one has ever felt it
between finger and thumb
Converts talk about
Tasting the air
and something in the air
but there’s always another explanation
the nearby sea, a factory’s pipes
a pile of fresh manure
It’s not the so-called air that smells

Scientists have complete faith in this air
They say that it upholds
and sustains our world
Take away the air, they argue
and we’d go too
Meteorologists attribute
Signs and wonders to the air
people thrown to the ground
trees uprooted, the landscape rearranged

It sounds like superstition to me
If there is air
who made it?
where does it all go?

why doesn’t it show itself
just one time for proof?

Friends ask me why windows rattle
and hair go awry
but I don’t believe in air
I don’t believe in air
air is just another word
For something that’s not there

If you were never into Christian poetry before, has reading this changed your mind? It did me when I was 21.

Poem: When I say I am a Christian

christian-design

I stumbled across an interesting site recently entitled Christian Poems. Like the name suggests, the site is dedicated to Christian Poems. I liked the following one because of the really down-to-earth way the ‘Unknown Author’ (Author: http://www.carolwimmer.com) describes Christianity:

WHEN I SAY I AM A CHRISTIAN

When I say…”I am a Christian
I’m not shouting “I am saved.”
I’m whispering “I was lost!”
That is why I chose this way.

When I say…”I am a Christian
I don’t speak of this with pride.
I’m confessing that I stumble
and need someone to be my guide.

When I say…”I am a Christian
I’m not trying to be strong.
I’m professing that I’m weak
and pray for strength to carry on.

When I say…”I am a Christian
I’m not bragging of success.
I’m admitting I have failed
and cannot ever pay the debt.

When I say…”I am a Christian
I’m not claiming to be perfect,
my flaws are all too visible
but God believes I’m worth it.

When I say…”I am a Christian
I still feel the sting of pain
I have my share of heartaches
which is why I seek His name.

When I say…”I am a Christian
I do not wish to judge.
I have no authority.
I only know I’m loved.

There are plenty more poems on the aforementioned site, well worth a visit.
