Be Bold For Christ

I saw this amazing Christian Illustration recently, named “Be Bold for Christ“. You can see the image in more detail over on Flickr, via A Message. In the Gospels, we are told how Bold the disciples were in preaching the Good news of Jesus Christ—so what a fitting message this design conveys…

Church Flyer Design by Cody Jensen

I stumbled across this great Christian Flyer Design for an Easter event at Enid First Assembly. It was designed by Cody Jensen—and you can see what else he does at Cody Jensen Design.

The design states “Not your typical Church”. Well, it’s not your typical flyer either. I think it’s a great, attractive and contemporary design that will have been noticed when distributed. It’s great to see Christians using their gifting in Gods service!

Deplorable NHS Sex Leaflet for teens

NHS-sex-day-leaflet

I read an article recently about a new National Health Service (NHS) leaflet campaign aimed at teens about sex. The pamphlet reads:

An Orgasm a Day: You could talk about the positive physical and emotional effects of sex and masturbation

The small print alerts youngsters of the benefits of having “An Orgasm a Day” [as opposed to having an apple a day]. It encourages teens to have sex and claims it is good for them. Pupils are also told they have a ‘right’ to a good sex life. What evilness {}.

Despite the Word of God telling us otherwise, it’s no wonder British teens have the highest birthrate in Europe. Shame on the NHS and shame on the British Government. If you have received one of these leaflets, I urge you, throw it in the bin and pick up a Bible. Start reading the Gospels and get right with God. Jesus is only only way to Heaven. Listen to this deplorable advice, and I think you have enough education to know where you’ll end up.

Apparently, the leaflet’s author, Steve Slack, director of the Centre for HIV and Sexual Health at NHS Sheffield, defended it by saying the advice could encourage young people to delay losing their virginity until they are sure they will enjoy the experience.

He added that as long as teenagers are fully informed about sex and making decisions free of peer pressure as part of a caring relationship, they have as much right as an adult to a good sex life. May I remind you “Steve”, that trying to explain-away immoral nature of this informational leaflet is going to do you no good on the day of Judgement.

For a full review of the story behind this, please visit this post on the Daily Mail website. God Bless.

If you are considering becoming a Christian, please read the article What does it mean to be a born again Christian? over at GotQuestions.org. Doing so may start you off on the greatest journey of your life. Don’t put off the decision to accept Christ another day.

The Google "Missing Link" Travesty

google-missing-link

When did Google start to indoctrinate its users to evolutionism? The behemoth of search engines often changes its Google logotype to celebrate events and special days, but never before I have seen it used to actually promote evil. Yes, I said it, and I’ll say it again—pure and utter EVIL.

When a typical user clicked on the actual logo link, there was a slurry of pages promoting the find of the “missing link”. You know, the thing that the great religion of fundamental evolutionary theory requires to totally denounce God, the Creator of all things. Are the ungodly so blind that they cannot see that evolution is a corrupt belief that is imparted from unspiritual atheist “scientists”? The word of the LORD states:

Genesis 1 | KJV | 1: In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth

That’s all I need to know—and this is the truth and what we all should believe. If you have any questions or thoughts about evolutionary-theory and creationism, I urge you to visit the inspiring site of Ken Ham (Answers in Genesis) – an authority figure for Creationism. There is a new article on there about what this new missing link fuss is all about…

Flyer Design for Christian Band "RipCord"

Whilst studying for my Graphic Design Degree at Coventry University, England, I was a member of the Uni Christian Union. Because of my skills, I was asked to design a flyer for a Christian Band named RipCord.

ripcord-christian-flyer

The flyer/pamflet was credit-card sized, with full colour one side and B+W on the reverse. I don’t have an image of the reverse here, but it contained details such as date, time, etc. I remember this design, as it was my first ever piece of printed design work. I think, in all, 5000 were printed and handed out to students at University.

The only brief I was given to come up with a concept was the RipCord logo and “bomb” graphic. I decided to create a concept that utilised a giant ‘rip’ through the design—using the obvious wordplay. Myself and everyone involved in the Christian Union—as well as the band themselves were happy with the design—and it was an honour to do this for the LORD more than anything else.

Have you designed a Christian flyer before? How did it work out? Do you think people were saved because as a direct result of your design?

10 Fantastic and Funny Church Signs

I really enjoy seeing Funny Church Signs. The Bible states:

Proverbs 15:30
A cheerful look brings joy to the heart, and good news gives health to the bones.

I think it’s a great thing that some Churches have broken-free from self-imposed religious-constraints of old—and given humour a chance to spread the Gospel of Jesus within their churches.

I have selected 10 fantastic examples of funny Church Signage from across the globe for your pleasure. I especially like the “Caution, Exposure to the Son may prevent Burning”. Quite original I believe…

Boycott all your "Xmas" Christmas Cards now!

merry-xmas-card
Image Copyright here.

Every year, I see the vast array of Christmas Cards that have been designed. Some are good, some are ‘bad’ (poorly-designed), but there are some that are just plain evil.

You may think I’m going over the top here, but when it comes to so-called ‘designers’ making Christmas cards inclusive of the words ‘Merry Xmas’, the name of Jesus Christ has been totally relegated.

It wasn’t until researching for this article that I found this Wikipedia article about how Christ has been substituted for X for a 1000 years. An extract from the article reads:

The word “Christ” and its compounds, including “Christmas”, have been abbreviated in English for at least the past 1,000 years, long before the modern “Xmas” was commonly used. “Christ” was often written as “XP” or “Xt”; there are references in the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle as far back as AD 1021…

That may be all-well-and-good, but the vast majority of people who exchange cards with this “nothing short of blasphemy” are not aware of this. In my opinion, the derogatory ‘X’ is a way of replacing the name of our Holy Jesus to fit-in with a secular society.

I have strong views on this, true, and I urge you to do likewise. This year, I urge everyone who reads this not to send out an ‘Xmas card’. Boycott them all — and if you receive one, throw it in the bin. As a final rant, printing ‘Xmas’ may be justifiable in the eyes of some (saving space, etc), but don’t get me started on people who say to each other “Merry Xmas”X and Christ are both one syllable!

Are you a designer who has designed ‘Xmas Cards’? Have you sent or received one this year? I’d like to hear your thoughts.
