10 Christian Angel Tattoo Designs
This article originally showed a gallery of 10 Christian Angel Tattoo Designs. I don’t have any tattoos myself—but many Christians do. Some believe that for a Christian to have a tattoo is wrong, because of Leviticus 19:28, where it reads:
“You shall not make any cuttings in your flesh on account of the dead or tattoo any marks upon you: I am the LORD.”
There’s an interesting article on the meaning of this verse, it’s context and validity in the New Covenant over at Religious Tattoos. I have deleted the images this post contains, as I now feel I was in error. Whilst I’m not stating that having a tattoo is wrong, I don’t want to glorify it either. If you are a Christian who is thinking about having one, please pray to the LORD Jesus about it first.
Are you a Christian who has a tattoo? Do you think it’s okay by the LORD? What do you think of these designs? I’d like to hear your opinions below…

Why show tattoos? I thought tattoos were a taboo according to the Bible.

I already linked to an article at the top of the page, on how the “No tattoo’s” law was from Moses in the Old testiment here @ http://www.wcg.org/lit/law/otl/otl04.htm
The article lists the reasons why Christians may have them in the New Covenant, the first reason is here:
The article lists more. I’m still on the fence with this issue. What do ou think after reading it (if time permits)?

I understand that the “no tattoos law” was from the old testament but I just don’t see what the rationale of calling it Christian Angel tattoo design. It really sounds like an oxymoron.

Hi again Jeff,
I named the article “Christian Angel tattoo designs” because all the examples come from Religious Tattoos .net, a site that displays Christian body art. Sorry if it feels like an oxymoron-subject to you.

I’m not a fan of tattoos, and although I see your argument for allowing tattoos or approving of them, the same can be paralleled to the Ten Commandments. We may say “well it’s old testament law” and then neglect those specific laws God had given us.
One of the things that was a sign of separation from the gentiles was the use of markings on the bodies of the “heathens” as they are referred to.

@Skysofly → Yeah, I can see your point there. I’ve been doing some more research on the issue recently, and this article may be worth a read: http://www.gotquestions.org/Christian-tattoos.html
The article is entitled “Is it okay to get tattoos if they are of a Christian nature?”, with the following quote as the conclusion:
It gave me something to think about…

I actually have a tattoo, that is less than a year old, but have been “saved” for over 15 yrs. I struggled with the idea if it was Ok in my God’s eyes to get a tattoo, as I wanted one but not if it was frowned upon by my lord. I did what all people who have a personal relationship with Jesus do. I asked him, and prayed and waited on his answer before going ahead and getting it done. Obviously if I have gotten one, you know what the answer was. By the way he has not stopped working in me, or using me to bring him glory.
BTW the tattoo i have is a wooden cross looking like it is protruding my skin in my left arm. I would consider an angel tattoo in the future, only after prayer if I get the answer to do so.

tattoo’s are not something we as “chrisitans” should be getting and jesus would not be appproving these as well , soi have them as well but that was “before” i got saved and i knew i wasnt’ suppose to get them thenand i most def. know how that we wont be put to death for it but we may be punished for it becuase it is a law that we know not to do but do it anyway, as for me i will not get anymore being that im “saved” now!

@raechelle → I can see the argument on both sides, but like you, I plan never to get one done…just in case.
Thanks for contributing
