This is Not Christianity: Free Poster Download

Are you vexed by people who claim to be Christians, yet aren’t? You’re not alone. I’ve designed a free poster for you to download aptly named “This is Not Christianity”:

This is Not Christianity Poster Image

As can be seen, the design capitalises on a false-premise that some people hold; that if they wear a Crucifix around their neck and call themselves Christians; then they are (when they aren’t unless they receive Salvation from the LORD). [...] Continue Reading…

Save Me From Myself: Brian “Head” Welch

Image of Brian Head Welch "Save me from Myself" book

I received an email recently from UK online Christian Book retailer Eden. In this email, a book was featured which grabbed my attention straight away, named Save Me From Myself How I Found God, Quit Korn, Kicked Drugs, and Lived to Tell My Story.

I’d heard a little of the back-story about this book before, but what struck me was the wonderfully eluring design of this book cover. I meanit’s mesmerizing! Instantly I wanted to know about this book and what it was all about. After all, that’s what a great book cover design is supposed to do. [...] Continue Reading…

Great footer credits by Kyle Steed

Kyle Steed site

Kyle Steed is a respected designer, Christian and fellow blogger. I’ve just noticed his new blog design (with the header shown above). What is really great about this site, more than anything else that caught my attention was the footer, which reads:

Crafted by: kyle steed | Secured by: Firehost | Saved by: Jesus Christ

I just thought this was a great idea—and one that speaks volumes. What a great yet simple way to share his faith. [...] Continue Reading…

Jesus is LORD

Images of my Jesus is LORD logo design

I was watching TV today and heard a report that plans are been drawn up to make it illegal to state that Jesus is the only way (or something to that effect). I could easily vent my anger here, but instead I felt stirred in my spirit to just design something positive—and here it is—Jesus is LORD.

Want to be a Christian Graphic Designer?

Image for Christian university studies article

I received an email recently from someone about wanting to be a Christian Graphic Designer. I will obviously keep the person’s name confidential, but here is the question asked, with my answer afterwards. I have included this Q&A so others may benefit from it:

Hello, my name is [let's say] Dave, and I want to be a Christian Graphic Designer. The problem is that I’m not sure about the right education. Which is better – a for profit or not for profit college, regionally or nationally accredited, Associate of Science or Associate of Arts in Graphic Design, a Christian or Community college? Any advice in this matter will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

The best advice that I could give to you is not an academic answer. To be honest, I have no idea what a regionally or nationally accredited college is. For a Christian, that is, someone who has given their life to Jesus and has received the promised Holy Spirit, all important decisions like this should be made with prayer. [...] Continue Reading…

Wonderful Grapevine Booklet by Bubble Design

image preview of the grapevine 2010 journey booklet cover design

Grapevine is an annual Christian Celebration that takes place over the August Bank Holiday period in Lincolnshire, here in the UK. The grapevine official site explains:

The church is on a Journey that brings influence and makes an impact for good within the nation. Something great happens when the church gathers together both locally as the body of Christ and nationally in Celebration, our Journey makes progress!

We believe that this Grapevine with its excellent programme for all ages and the ministry by our friends and guests, will be outstanding!

The actual celebration is very impressive, where Christians attend to worship God and hear great preaching—and non-Christians go to find out about true Christianity. Part of the success of this annual event is partly due to the great design of their promotional material, such as the Grapevine 2010 “The Journey” booklet design (Brochure) shown below. [...] Continue Reading…

Image of the Band 'Delirious", whos Christian Music is in the UK Charts

Recently, there has been a campaign by an online organisation named Invade The Airwaves to get the Christian UK band Delirious? into the top ten of the UK charts this Easter. Lets face it, in the secular age, we need people to be reminded about Jesus, given that this Holiday is supposed to be about His Resurrection! [...] Continue Reading…

Plans for Pure Christian Graphic Design

christian-design

Hi there. Things round here at Pure Christian Graphic Design have been rather slow of late. You may have noticed that I moved this site from its old URL (at www.PureChristianGraphicDesign.com) to this one (http://www.andrewkelsall.com/christiangraphicdesign). I have done this because I’ve had little time to run this site on a weekly basis, so it made sense for me to move it over as a sub-site of AndrewKelsall.com for now. This way, this blog can benefit from my traffic rank and popular status in Google. [...] Continue Reading…
